Alex Koenigsberg:
Alex spent just under five years as the Executive Director of Creative Living Community of CT (CLCC). The idea behind CLCC is that people with disabilities have so much to offer and can function as valued and contributing members of society. CLCC is just giving them the helping hand they may need through housing, vocational training, and programs. During his time at CLCC, Alex was responsible for all aspects of the management of the organization including: fundraising, grant writing, program design, budgeting, and program implementation. During his time at CLCC, the organization implemented a successful capital campaign to raise $285,000 for the purchase of property for the vision, applied for a multi-million dollar DOH funding grant (waiting on announcement of award) to build housing, and contracted necessary professional services including an architect, program partner, and housing consultant.

Prior to CLCC, Alex spent four years working with the nonprofit MetroHartford Alliance as an Event Coordinator where he organized over 60 events a year. He previously spent five years at Cabrera Services, Inc. as a Proposal Coordinator, designing proposals to bid on state and federal remediation jobs.

Alex spent six years volunteering on the Board of Directors for Hartford Food System where he served as both the Vice-Chair and Secretary of the board as well as on the Governance Committee. He also spent two years serving on the town of Coventry’s Economic Development Commission. Alex was honored as one of Connecticut’s “40 Under Forty” (an award recognizing local professionals excelling in their leadership skills) in 2015 and the winner of New Haven’s “Startup Weekend” in 2012. Alex attended Eastern Connecticut State University where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a GPA of 3.9.

His diverse background as well as experience as the leader of a small nonprofit has well equipped Alex to see things from the client’s view and implement strategies that put the client’s needs first.
